2013 FIG Anadia World Cup Nominative List

This FIG world cup event will take place in Anadia, Portugal on 21-23 of June. I believe it is only an event finals competition, no AA. The top countries like China, Romania and Russia are sending good gymnasts to this meet. The MAG list is great as well.

Nominative List

China is sending Shang Chunsong and Zeng Siqi. Shang will compete on UB, BB & FX. Zeng on BB & FX.

Romania is sending Larisa Iordache and Diana Bulimar. They will compete on all apparatuses.

Russia is sending the popular Anastasia Grishina (UB, BB, FX) along with new seniors, Ekaterina Baturina (BB, FX) and Alla Sosnitskaya (VT). 2nd year senior Anna Rodionova will be competing too.  It's interesting to note that Rodionova's best event is beam but she is planned to do VT and UB. Alla Sosnitskaya is good on floor exercise with potential. She apparently will only compete on vault.

Check out Alla Sosnitskaya's floor. It's a long video so I won't embed but I marked the link at 17:17 time.

Check out Anna Rodionova's beam from 2012. It's pretty impressive. She does flic flac to Arabian!

Kohei Uchimura's Double Saltos

 (Source: gymnasticsgif)

Why would Uchimura want to do double saltos when twisting skills can give you more bonus? Some people seems to forget that Uchimura actually performed double saltos in his past floor routines. I wouldn't blame Uchimura for this but would blame the MAG CoP. At least Uchimura can twist clean unlike the majority of the elite gymnasts out there. Doing two twisting combo can give good bonus and it will count two decent elements for example D+C 0.1 bonus. It's much harder to count one G/F VS D & C + bonus when adding up the total d-score of the top 10 skills. The gymnast doing a G or F skill will have to find another element to count towards the top 10. Yes it's possible to have one G or F and multiple twisting elements but when you can get more points for doing all twisting elements, mind as well do it! By the way the first gif is a 3/1 twisting 2/1 tuck.

2013 Chinese National WAG Routines

This kind user bmbul is uploading videos to youtube. You can find all the results here

Huang Huidan UB EF Gold. D 6.6 + E 8.534 = 15.134. Wow I like her routine. She connected her pak to stalder shaposh 1/2. That's the same connection as Aliya Mustafina's 2012 UB gold medal routine.
Shang Chunsong BB EF Gold

Kohei Uchimura Wins 2013 67th Japanese MAG AA Nationals

Source with more information

1) Kohei Uchimura 91.850 + 90.500 = 182.350 AA Day 1 & 2 combined
2) Ryohei Kato 89.800 + 88.55 = 178.350 AA
3) Yusuke Tanaka 88.050 + 89.250 = 177.300 AA

The translation was rough to understand so hopefully I did the scores correctly. I tried watching this event live but my feed was really choppy and then I couldn't refresh the link. I got tired so I went to sleep. The Japanese Universiade team for 2013 will be Ryohei Kato, Yusuke Tanaka, Shogo Nonomura, Chihiro Yoshioga and Hiroki Ishikawa. I'm not sure if I got all the names right.

Oh I just found Day 2 part 1 (watch it before it might get deleted)

2013 WAG Chinese National Championships News Video

Here is a news clip that has bits and pieces of Sui Lu's beam, Jiang Yuyuan's floor and He Kexin's bars. I don't understand what they are saying but the veterans are actually looking good. It's good to see them still competing.

Emin Garibov 2013 Universiade Games Promo Video

Emin Garibov is the two time 2012-2013 European high bar champion.

Anastasia Dmitrieva FX Russian Jr Nationals '13

Alright so one of my new favourite Russian junior has once again upgraded her floor routine. Dmitrieva has added a full in tuck. At the recent Montreal gymnix she upgraded to double arabian tuck. She is slowly upgrading her floor routine. I see a lot of potential in this gymnast. She will turn senior in 2015. She still needs to work on her splits so hopefully that can be corrected. With time I think she can be special on floor. Some parts of her floor choreography is a bit amateur but it suits her. Hopefully she will start to get better floor choreography as she turns senior. She really reminds me of Ksenia Semenova or Afanasyeva.

Ksenia Afanasyeva Training Early for 2013 Universiade Games

Source

While the majority of the Russian gymnasts decided to take a rest after the 2013 European Championships Ksenia Afanasyeva continued to resume training. Here is my quick thoughts and synopsis of the article:

The Russian national team will start training for the Universiade Games on May 5th but Afanasyeva started training 5 days earlier. Afanasyeva is currently at Round Lake with her personal coach Marina Nazarova. It must be nice that she is training quietly in the gym before the other girls come in. I like that she is serious about her gymnastics career. She says that it’s easier for the other gymnasts to maintain good shape while she probably finds it harder to stay in shape and she says she is in decent shape. I personally think she is in great shape. She also says that she had nothing to do and she was probably bored so she and her coach decided to train early. The interviewer asked Ksenia if she was disappointed at some of her European results and she said, “yes, now everything is fine” (laughs). Perhaps she is disappointed with her AA results. I can see her doing well at the Universiade Games for AA.

I’m really enjoying her positive work ethic.
