Sanne Wevers 2016 Cottbus World Cup QF BB || D-Score

Very lovely and interesting routine. Some may say she overuses many same skills but this is a unique and different kind of beam routine than we are use to seeing. She is very good at turns and the first double L-turn is named after her. I think she did everything she intended to do except she can connect switch leap into Kochetkova.

Im just practicing putting her difficulty together since I want to keep understanding the code of points. Also this routine is pretty hard to understand when you don't understand the CoP well. I'm sure I did this correctly.

Wevers Turn (E)
2 Aerial Cartwheel (D) 0.1CV
Front Aerial + Wolf Jump (D) 0.1CV
L-turn + 1/1 Turn + 2/1 Turn (C+A+D) 0.2CV
Split leap+Straight Jump 1/1
Switch Leap (C)
Kochetkova (D)
Layout Gainer Dismount (D)

Dance = E, C, D, C
Acro = D, D, D, D

3.1 + 0.4CV = 3.5 + 2.5CR = 6.0 D-Score

Paseka VT Gold & Kramarenko UB Gold (D-score) @ Universiade 2015

A lot of unflattering leg separations but still very good first vault. I hope she keeps staying consistent for Russia.

And here is Kramarenko's bar routine. I like her composition. I like that she has two shap 1/2 variations in her routine. Sooo pretty. The only thing that takes away from this routine is the pak salto. It has always been like that. It's good to see Kramarenko still sticking around.

Stalder 1/1 +  Stalder Shap 1/2 (D+E) 0.1CV
Toe 1/2 + Jaeger (C,D)
Pak salto (D)
VLW (E)
Toe 1/1 + Tsuk (D+D) 0.1CV

3.3 + 0.2CV = 3.5 + 2.5CR = 6.0 D-score

5/2 Twists + 3/2 Twist (D+C) 0.2CV
Split leap 1/1 (C)

Sae Miyakawa FX D-Score @ 69th Japanese Championships

Wow. Watch it before it gets taken off. Usually Japanese footage gets deleted from youtube.

DLO 1/1 (H)
Fwd whip + Dbl front (B+E) 0.2
Switch leap + Split leap 1/1 (B,C)
DLO (F)
1/1 Turn (A)
Dbl Dbl (H)

3.5 + 0.2CV = 3.7 + 2.5CR = 6.2 D-Score

I think she can even upgrade her dance elements. She can upgrade her turn and one of her leaps. Also maybe she can stag out of her double front. Maybe she can get around 6.5/6.6 difficulty.

Ksenia Afanasyeva 2015 Russian Championships FX EF

I like the music and the way she moves. Arm waving queen. Simple movements and still artistic.

In team finals she successfully competed 5/2 twists + 1/1 twist. That pass was last seen in Beijing 2008. It's not an easy pass for her so that's why I'm excited. Also she is doing a new split jump 3/2 (D) at the beginning of her routine. She's trying really hard to upgrade. With what she has been showing at this national, if she adds back the Y-turn after her 2/1 L-turn she can go up to 6.6D-score!

It's a far stretch but if she can do 1/1 DLO she can be at 6.8. This girl really needs a skill named after her. Maybe a 3/1 Attitude turn or even 3/1 L-turn :P? She has a good balance of difficult acro + beautiful dance elements. Not many can achieve this.

Komova BB D-Score || Russian Championship 2014

This was an exhibition routine as she didn't make event finals. I am so happy to see Komova back in action. She does an exciting ff + Arabian + leap combo. It might not have been connected enough with the leaps but that is what she was intending to do. She only has one acro series so she will have to hit that connection all the time. All in all she still has time to perfect her routine and I'm excited to she her at her full potential again.

L-turn + Front Aerial + Sheep + Back Tuck (C+D+D) 0.4
FF + Arabian + leap series (F) 0.3
Dbl Turn (D)
Front Tuck (D)
Side-somi (D)
2 FF + Dbl Tuck (D) 0.1

3.3 + 0.8CV + 2.5CR = 6.6 D-Score! Pretty impressive.

Komova QF UB - 2014 Russian Championships

She's BACK! Haha sorry about the lame excitement, it's for humour effect. Hopefully it was funny but actually it's really nice to see Komova back in action. She is looking really good. She still has a nice look to her gymnastics. Seeing her bar routine I think she will still be able to bring back the big skills like the piked tkatchev and even the dbl dbl tuck dismount. I mean Tweddle was able to do it at age 27 so there should be no doubt that Komova could regain it back again. I hear she has a new skill on bars. Can't wait to see what it is. It looks like she finally took out the giant 1/2 before the dismount. The cast 1/2 was a bit iffy but it seems she really is not good at that change and honestly I have gotten used to the giant 1/2 that it's not even an issue for me. If it works for her it works for her but if she's intending to do the cast 1/2 hopefully she will improve on it. I heard she scored 15.000 for this routine. Seems reasonable.

Most of the video quality are not the best because of the live stream. I'm grateful for the Russian fans who recorded the live feed as this competition is too early for me to watch. I haven't check the results but based on pictures Mustafina won AA. For results you guys can check the official website. And for the full coverage you guys can check out luchinho84 youtube.

Komova II + Pak Salto (E+D) 0.2
Komova (E)
Inbar 1/2 + Layout Jaeger (D+E) 0.1
Inbar 1/1 + Tkatchev (E+D) 0.1
Tsuk (D)

3.6 + 0.4CV + 2.5CR = 6.5 D-score

Peng Wang Doha 2014 FX - Quad Twists

Say what? Let me work out his difficulty. Excuse me if I get anything wrong since I'm rusty with the MAG code.

Bwd 7/2 + Fwd 1/1 (E+C) 0.1CV
Bwd 4/1 (F)
Bwd 5/2 + Fwd 3/2 (D+C) 0.1CV
Fwd 5/2 (E)
Thomas Salto (D)
Fedorchenko (C)
Japanese Hstd (C)
Bwd 3/1 (D)

4.0 + 0.2CV + 2.5EGR = 6.7 D-score || His completions of some twists were iffy but it seems the judges gave him credit for everything.

Here he got 6.7D + 8.4E = 15.1

And here is Paul Ruggeri's routine because he does double saltos.

Anna Rodionova 2014 Cottbus Uneven Bars (D-Score)

Rodionova finished 2nd on bars to Germany's Scheder at the Cottbus Cup, results. This routine is the current most talked about routine on the gymternet. I really liked her routine. It's clear that she worked hard on bars because she did not compete on any other events. Her hard work is paying off. Hopefully she can continue to keep pacing well. She could make the 2014 world team if she stays healthy and consistent.

I really like Rodionova. Honestly I'm not surprised that she did well on bars because it's quite evident that she has a lot of potential. Hopefully she will continue to keep working hard. Her gymnastics is beautiful when she hits her routines. I'm feeling optimistic for Rodionova :).

Inbar + Toe 1/1 + Toe On + Komova II + Pak (D+D+C+E+D) 0.2CV*
VLW (E)
Toe 1/2 + Jaeger (D)
Tsuk Tucked (D)

3.3 + 0.2 CV + 2.5 CR = 6.0 D-Score
* She only gets connection for the Komova II + Pak

Sophie Scheder 2013 UB D-Score

It seems everyone is raving about Scheder's routine and I love it too. It's so beautiful. In fact I like her routine more than Kyla Ross's. I remember seeing her in Antwerp EF finals and thinking wow this girl has nice lines and does nice inbar stalder work. I just realized that she was in European bars finals. I don't know why I didn't notice that. Her routine is not flashy and filled with release skills but I like her bar routine. I appreciate all types of bar routines and this routine is definitely a winner.

Inbar 1/1 + Komova II + Bail + Toe 1/1 (E+E+D+D) 0.4CV
Inbar stalder shoot to HB
Inbar + Inbar 1/2 + Jaeger (D+D+D) 0.1CV
Tsuk (D)

3.4 + 0.5CV + 2.5CR = 6.4 D-Score

2013 Massilia Videos/Quick Thoughts

There are lots of videos at piibunina's channel.

Admittedly I haven't seen all the videos but I think one of my favourite routine is from Claudia Fragapane. It's unique.
I wasn't really impressed by the Russians but it's great to see Ekaterina Kramarenko still competing and looking not too shabby. IMO it's weird how Russia's veterans are still a bit better than the new Russian seniors. The newer Russian generation lacks execution or difficulty. The newer seniors can still improve but I find it hard that when gymnasts like Semenova, Afanasyeva, Komova, Grishina, Mustafina etc at age 16 had superior style than the current new Russian generation. The newer girls are not as polished. Now I know that there is a new code but even back then they still had about the same or more difficulty with better execution. I guess we'll have to wait and see how the other girls like Kharenkova or Kuzmina does. I do like Anna Rodionova but she lacks difficulty and this is what I'm saying. Even in the old codes 2008-2012 her older teammates still had more difficulty compared to her and they had good execution. I know that Rodionova has the ff + Arabian combo but that's about it. I feel Russia is either lacking in difficulty but has good execution or has good difficulty but lack execution, for example Shelgunova. She has good difficulty but really lacks execution. She's already 16 and when most of her veteran teammates were at the same age as Shelgunova they were better than her. I'm not hating on Shelgunova but I just want to point out that she needs a lot of work in her execution.

In this beam routine she is going for 6.7. Good difficulty but bad execution. Hopefully she'll improve or take out some skills/connections.

Ro + Layout (E) 0.1CV
Switch leap + Switch leap 1/2 (D) 0.1
Aerial cartwheel + loso (D) 0.2
Front Aerial + Sheep jump (D+D) 0.2
Front tuck + wolf jump (D) 0.1
Full turn
Switch Ring (E)
Dbl Pike (E)

3.5 + 0.7CV = 4.2 + 2.5CR = 6.7 D-Score

Just Because...Ksenia Afanasyeva Training 1/1 DLO

She trained this for the first time in early of 2013. I hope she can get it and hopefully compete it when she returns to full competitive competition. It needs to be straighter but this was her first time training it in the layout position. This skill is worth H!

New 2013 MAG Elements

FIG has posted up the new MAG elements that were performed in Antwerp. Kenzo Shirai had three new elements named after him! What a guy. His skills were bwd stretched 4/1 twists (F), fwd stretched 3/1 twists (F) and Yuchenko stretched 3/1 twists (6.0). He shares the Yurchenko stretched 3/1 twists with South Korea's Kim Hee Hoon.

Full List of the 12 new elements.

Nice Tuck Stand Turn Gifs Into Low Beam Choreography Ideas

I'm not a fan of the tuck stand turn on one leg but these gifs shows how nice they can look when a gymnast have creative choreo ideas. These turns can be called wolf turns as well. There are gymnasts that have these turns named after them.

First gif is Madeline Gardiner and 2nd gif is Chelsea Tang
