CoP - Tip of The Month

On uneven bars D+D both flight elements on the same bar can receive 0.2 connection value.

I was checking the CoP and it seems I can't find the D+D both flight element for 0.2. I know the code states D+D or more is 0.1 but those are for skills such as Stalder 1/1 + Tkatchev, inbar 1/2 + Jaeger etc.

The D+E both flight elements is in the code. Usually you'll see those skills be used as Piked Tkatchev + Pak or most recently Mustafina's Seitz + Pak.

D+D 0.2CV examples: Markelov + Gienger (e.g Tweddle) or Tkatchev + Gienger (e.g Shang)

Gymnastics Olympic Event Finals Day 2

This event will feature men's rings and vault. The women's will be the uneven bars. Good luck to all the competitors. I'm watching the BBC live coverage.

Rings: 1) Zanetti 2) Chen 3) Morandi - I'm obviously disappointed for Chen but silver at the Olympics is still awesome. Zanetti did a great job, it was a beautiful style with some very nice difficult strength moves. Congrats Zanetti. Morandi takes a well deserved bronze. RINGS RESULTS

Uneven Bars: 1) MUSTAFINA!!!!!!!!!! 2) He, 3) Tweddle - ALIYA MUSTAFINA DID IT! She finally gets a gold medal for a beautiful routine. She is the boss. I'm very happy with the results. He Kexin proves that she is still one of the best bars worker in the world. I'm very happy for He Kexin :). Beth tweddle had little trouble with her dbl dbl dismount and had to take a huge hop back. Tweddle still did good and should be proud with the bronze. I'm happy for her. This bars finals was one of the best finals. Every single women hit their routine except for Douglas. Great stuff. BAR RESULTS

Vault: 1) YANG HAK SEON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2) Ablyazin 3) Radivilov
Yang's 3/1 FHS could have been landed better but the massive difficulty is insane. 3/1 twists and CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN form. His second vault was even more beautiful 3/1 Tsuk with beautiful stuck landing. This makes me incredibly happy. Congrats to all the medalists. VAULT RESULTS

Good Luck Beth Tweddle!

This whole Olympics has been crazy!!!!!!!! I'm still rooting for Tweddle. It would be a dick move if I just stopped rooting for her. I can't help it. It's so easy to root for her.
Bars final will be very interesting to watch. So many talented ladies. I love Komova and Mustafina on bars. I feel like such a shitty Russian fan because I'd rather Tweddle win, oh well. Now if Tweddle doesn't make it I'll be rooting for the Russians. In fact I want this Tweddle/Mustafina/Komova.
I just hope the bars finals will be a clean competition, please hit ladies.

Some British Gymnastics

Louis Smith PH - I admit that he is good but look at how cocky he gets at his dismount.
Beth Tweddle's New FX - It was a watered down set. I actually like the music choice but the dancing is still not artistic enough. Presentation is not her forte.
Beth Tweddle's UB - I'm still rooting for her and I hope she can win gold but I'm really starting to favour Douglas and Mustafina over her. It looks like bars will be an epic battle at the Olympics.

My WAG Favourites For Olympic Gold Medals

Here is my final list of the favourite female gymnasts I want to see win gold at the Olympics. I don't have a 2nd or 3rd place list. My list will change depending on who will actually be at the games. Actually, I might not even care about making changes. I just want the best gymnasts to win, even if they are not my favourite. If any of my favourites ends up just medaling 2nd or 3rd I will still be happy. This is not a prediction list just a favourite dream list. These gymnasts actually have realistic chances of winning gold medals.

I did some long and short write ups about these gymnasts. Please keep in mind that some of the posts are not recent and my opinion then may not be the same as today. Regardless, I am - still favouring them to win gold.

Team: I 'm undecided. I really respect all the teams. My intuition tells me not to be bias because I can see all the good and flaws from each team. May the best team win that night.

All-Around: Viktoria Komova (RUS) click for post link

Vault: Mckayla Maroney (USA) click for post link

Uneven Bars: Beth Tweddle (GBR) click for post

Balance Beam: Sui Lu (CHN) click for post link

Floor Exercise: Ksenia Afanasyeva (RUS) click for post link

*I didn't include any Romanians. I actually hope they do well at the Olympics and surprise the living daylights out of me.

Beth Tweddle Minor Injury & New Russian Training Video

Ah my favourite for the Olympic gold medal on bars just had knee surgery. Why are all my favourites getting injured or sick? Kohei Uchimura better be safe. Click here for the mini article of Tweddle and the British European squad. I pray for Tweddle and hope she will recovery well and fight for that UB title.

And now to the main event. I'm not sure how new this video clip is but KSENIA AFANASYEVA is training in this clip. She is just getting more beautiful everyday. You can hardly see her but she's in there. I know I talk a lot about Afanasyeva but she is the main girl that got me into being a crazy gym fan. While everyone talks about the other Russian superstars I'll talk about Afanasyeva. I don't even know what's going on with her lately. Will she all of a sudden be at the European championships? We'll see. I also spot Anna Dementyeva. I hope everything will work out for her. She has been a big part of Russian gymnastics this quad. Mustafina and Komova are looking in great shape. I can't wait to see how Komova's new floor routine will look like. I hope her new floor music will grow on me. Komova is my favourite to win the Olympic all-around title. Ok enough with my blabbing and here is the new training video.
Edit-This video is indeed old. It was at least 3 weeks old. There was another video clip of Mustafina 3 weeks ago with the same gymnasts and outfits. The video link is here Aliya Mustafina ready for London Olympics 2012

Beth Tweddle For UB GOLD

How cool would it be if Beth Tweddle won gold on uneven bars in London? I think it would be cool if she won in her own country. I think Tweddle will be the favourite to win.

It's hard to say who will make it to London but her main rivals will come from Russia and China. Her current bar routine is 7.1 in difficulty. If she hits she can be golden. There are rumours that she can still upgrade her routine. She can do a double double tuck dismount but can she be consistent with more difficulty? I think a 7.1 D-score is safe enough to be golden. She will have home advantage.

Here's a video of Tweddle's UB routine from team finals in Tokyo 2011. She scores 7.1 D-score + 8.566 E-score = 15.666 total.

Toe-on 1/1 + Tweddle + Ezhova + *VLW (D + F + D + E) 0.6CV
Ono + Markelov + Gienger (E + D + D) 0.4CV
Tsuk dismount (D)

3.6 + 1.0CV = 4.6 + 2.5CR = 7.1 D-Score

*VLW is my own acronym for Van Leeuwen. I'm going to make that acronym work :)
